If you are a content writer, here’s how to GET BUSINESS FROM the ones cold emailing you.

Yes. You read that right!!!

At one time or another we’ve subscribed to a newsletter or to some other service provider and such. If you look through your inbox, you will see a ton of emails from them and also from some others who you haven’t subscribed to.

In my inbox, I see content from James Clear, Daily Thoughts by Leandro Herrero, LinkedIn Marketing team, Andy from Orbit Media and such. I also have a ton of email from other folks who I have worked with sometime in the past or corresponded with sporadically.

A lot of those emails are cold emails. They may or may not make sense to your stage of life but they are in your inbox nevertheless. So they are on your mind (or at least in your inbox). I rarely if ever Google LinkedIn marketing now, it’s all in my inbox.

Now here’s what you have to do:

Vertical Timeline

Almost think of it like your first impression at an actual client meeting. Keep your tone personable, conversational and light. For your part, try to introduce some bit of humour in what you are trying to say or do.

I am attaching a pic below that shows how I do it for the cold emails that land up with me. The font is tiny, but if you can take the pain, you will see it is chock full of value.

I have blanked out the names and the specific identifiers. Blocked out the keyword but you can easily make it out from the image.

Once people start responding to you, Wow them with all of your amazing content, go deep into conversations and add value every step of the way!

Conversations for another day! 😎
